Warm today- sunny and springlike. I went home at break and changed into my fleecy and cloth jacket. Came out and the sun had gone, the wind was up, and I was cold. So then it was grey and fall-like, and still is. Shall probably turn the heat on in case those lows of 4C happen, but I won't turn it up high.

What have you just finished reading?
An anthology called Powers of Detection, mysteries crossed with fantasy. Many series-set, like Charlaine Harris, Anne Bishop, and Simon R Green. Readable fluff, better than many story collections I've known. There's one set in Cairo that Flows nicely into the Stick-Gods I was reading last weekend. Also, have no desire to read Anne Bishop's Black Jewels novels, but her world does sound intriguing.

This was at any rate better than Aftermath, an Inspector Banks novel. Goodreads suggests that the truly objectionable way Banks views women is a characteristic of the series, so thanks, I shall stick both this and the three-vol omnibus I picked up off the Front Lawn Library into someone's Little Library, and be done with it.

What are you reading now?
Raffles, still. At least his eeeevil moneylender is Scottish.

The Masked City.

The Oxford Murders, but will be very surprised if I keep on with it. If the characters are going to discuss mathematics, I'm out of here.
