I remember those sunny early days reading about Southern vampires. Alas, the last two weeks has been all traumatized WW1 soldier detectives and their domestic ghosts. Yes, and Thich Nhat Hanh and Isabel Allende, but it's the Ian Rutledges that read easiest when too many people are away at work and too many things are going wrong at home.

Also it's dark at 7 now, which is depressing.
