Uneasy nights

Other people's dreams/ nightmares are awesome.

Mine was the perennial recollection that I'd killed somebody and only just now recalled the fact after suppressing it for years. In this case it was very specifically a male friend of my brother's (unidentified except as such) whose throat I slashed from behind, and that it happened the autumn after my mother died. As ever, it was so convincing-- 'oh my god I'd completely blanked that from my memory!'-- that I had to run through the incidents of that fall before I'd tentatively believe that no, it didn't happen and couldn't have happened and John never had a friend who was murdered. What sealed it, I suppose, was the fact that I was missing the usual component of these dreams-- OMG what do I do with the body?!
