Josh Lanyon, All She Wrote. Middle age is when you skip over the hot m-m sex scenes to get on with the plot. Which, alas, I did. Wanted to like this better than I did: insecure protagonists just aren't my cup of tea. Shall see if Tony Fennelly's New Orleans detective holds up any better.

What will you read next?
My head is stuffed with cotton-- I seem to have lost a day somewhere in this week that's barely half over-- and though it's pleasantly cool now, the heat begins later this week. I may reread The Minority Council which doesn't require much brain.
