Wednesday April reading

Chodron- The Wisdom of No Escape
Okamoto- The Curious Casebook of Inspector Hanshichi
Blackwood- Graceful Exits
Tsushima- Child of Fortune
Dinesen- Winter's Tales
Francis- Wild Horses
Wallace- The Case Files of Mr. J.G. Reeder
Harrison- The Pastel City
Chodron- The Places that Scare You
Iyer- The Lady and the Monk
Livingston- Wondrous Strange
Mizutani- Nihongo Notes 9
Ricard- Happiness

And most of the Naked City anthology. Was going great guns until the last week. No idea what slowed me down unless it was Ricard's depressing strictures on altruism. Not sure which is worse: people telling me not to give money to panhandlers at all, or people telling me not to give money to panhandlers unless I've examined my motives and can guarantee them to be pure. Both make me cross. Has anyone thought about how my twonie looks from the pov of the panhandler? No, of course not.
