Canada Day is not my holiday anyway, and this year very much less than usual, as quite a number of people refuse to celebrate it. I still have my Canada Day sad-on, which feels left over from another time. (The other time is anything prior to 2020, because this is when next door took off to the cottage leaving me poor little matchgirling with no cottage to go to. Why don't people invite me to their cottages? They invite other people. Am I such a wetblanket, such a depressed downer, such a drag on conviviality? Well, I *am* a depressed downer but that's because no one invites me to their cottage. See?)

So I vacuumed the bedroom, which is at least one long-deferred chore done before the heat dome arrives next week.
