Hadn't consciously thought 'after my birthday, the deluge', but did somehow manage to buy enough ham and cheese on my last shop to allow of several Savoyard omelettes (potatoes, cheese, ham) before the weekend. They'd have been better with a stronger emmanthal. What I bought were cheese ends and half the packet turned out to be jalapeno havarti which is simply not worth eating. A pity, since it's the last cheese and pork I'll be having for a while. Winter does so incline one to starch and fat and disincline one to vegetables. At least I resisted the lure of bread, meaning also the lure of peanut butter and jam sandwiches.

Made up my sleep deficit by sleeping from 1 to 11:30 this morning. Came to from a dream in which 'we' (a Japanese family) were having dinner with another family but 'I' (who wasn't me, and might have been the father of the family) knew that are hosts were... ghouls, I think. Dead people, in any case. Do wish I could remember my dreams better these days.
