|09:25 pm - Random summer thoughts|
It is July, season of people on holidays, people with crises, and never enough warm bodies. Hence I have again become a body that works ie one that labours, not one that functions. Do not function at all well, I must say: knees give every morning when I try to stand up. This is partly a function of summer weight gain, but that itself is partly a function of summer edema.
Edema comes with the warmth. Has been warm for almost three days: not excessive heat, but the muggy sort that gives excessive heat humidexes. Fortunately a cold front moved in this evening, along with the usual torrential rain, and the next few days may see me slightly debloated. Especially if I don't spend eight hours a day on my feet, as I did today.
Otherwise Revenue Canada has bumped up my Impoverished Senior Person property tax and sales tax rebate by $15 a quarter. Peanuts, of course, but it feels like part of the constant birthday present surprise of being 65. Cannot believe how much more money I have from not having to pay for my prescriptions-- well, some of my prescriptions. Mood drugs are covered; sinusitis battling steroids are not.
